Tree Works

Trees are the giants of the plant world and provide an exciting avenue for children to explore plant parts and their functions, the interdependence of life in a system, competition for resources and the plant-people connection. This one-hour program of discoveries, hands-on activities and a guided tour helps children develop connections and understanding of life science concepts. Scholarships are available for this program and transportation funds are available upon request. Wednesdays, 10am, 11am and 12noon; K - 6th grades; $5.00 per child which includes admission

Walkabouts

Join us for a Wild Walkabout on our woodland nature trail. Explore habitats, plants and other wonders of nature with a specially trained guide. Find out how plants breathe and sweat, discover plant and animal interdependence, and investigate adaptations, habitats and predator/prey relationships. This hour-long program includes a hike in areas not open to the general public and is packed full of discoveries and hands-on learning experiences that fit your curriculum. All activities are tailored to grade level TEKS.

K - 6th grades
