1ST - 3RD GRADE
Plant Detective
All animals depend on plants for food, medicine, construction materials and the air we breathe. Your students will investigate plants and learn about plant parts, their functions and basic needs. They will keep a nature journal and investigate real plants in the classroom and outdoors in the schoolyard.

Butterflies, Bees and Blossoms
In this residency your students will learn the parts and purposes of a flower, insect parts and characteristics and the flower-insect connection. They will dissect real flowers, explore their own schoolyard and perform experiments with pollinators in this interactive and interesting program.

Planet Earth
In this residency, your students will be introduced to the Earth's materials.  They will investigate soil and test its properties, examine rocks and fossils, and discover how they are formed. They will learn about volcanoes, earthquakes and different land forms, and will also learn about and test water's properties and the water cycle.

3RD - 6TH GRADE
Diversity of Life
Within an ecosystem there are producers, consumers, decomposers, predators and prey. All of these work together to form food chains which enable an ecosystem to survive. In this program your students will investigate different types of systems through hands-on activities and experiments and explore their schoolyard ecosystems.

Eco-Quest
Whether it is a plant or a person, every living thing requires energy to live. In our Eco-Quest, your students will learn about the sun's role in producing energy and the flow of energy from plants to people. They will investigate and compare renewable and non-renewable energy sources. Hands-on activities, role-playing and nature walks make this a fun and interactive learn experience.

Rock and Roll
The planet Earth is always changing. In this residency, students will discover how shifting tectonic plates result in earthquakes, volcanoes and geysers, and together with glaciers and rivers, change the surface of the Earth. They will test the properties of soil and rocks, perform experiments with weathering and erosion and engage in experiments and activities to understand the Earth's changing surface.
