The Arboretum's guided tours, self-instructing materials
and educational programs provide hands-on experiences
that make learning fun and meet the requirements of the
TEKS for science education. In addition, these programs
incorporate language arts, math, social studies and fine
art components.
Because the Crow Pavilion's new
classrooms allow the addition of deeper levels of
science education to existing field trips, the Arboretum
added two new teachers to its staff to research, write
curricula for new field trips and teach new classes. The
new programs will incorporate technology and help
students investigate and understand more complex natural
science concepts. |
