Color Me Beautiful: Colored Pencil Rendering
Learn to render lovely botanical-style florals with colored pencils. Using step-by-step shading and layering techniques, you will learn how to make colored pencil paintings that pop with color and dimension.  In this introductory workshop, Terrie Meider, experienced artist and teacher, will focus on the materials and techniques required to begin enjoying this wonderful art.  You will learn how to choose a subject, how to analyze that drawing for color placement and contrast, wash and resist techniques, shading, layering, mixing, burnishing techniques and much more. 10/3 from 9am – 2:30pm; $110 or $99 for Members

Stroke of Genius: Watercolor 
Join award winning artist and experienced instructor, Michael Borne, as he introduces you to the wonderful world of watercolor painting. Session I

Michael Borne will introduce you to the tools of watercolor painting and begin the journey to inspire the budding and experienced artist.  Through demonstration and hands-on exercises you will learn about design composition, working with colors and how to draw and paint florals, trees and landscapes. At the end of class students are invited to share and discuss the day’s work.

Session II

In this session Michael will continue to develop your painting skills as you explore natural forms, silhouettes, sketching in perspective and patterns and shapes in watercolor painting. In addition you will learn techniques for developing shades and shadows as well as controlling washes and painting textures. A full day of painting will expand your enjoyment of this wonderful pastime and give you the foundation and confidence for your personal journey as an artist.

Mad About Mosaics: Flower Pot
Tap into your creative genius with this fun and exciting class on mosaics. Robin Oldham, owner of Smashing Times, will walk you through the process of creating a unique and beautiful six-inch mosaic planter. Tumbled glass, china and colorful tiles will be used to adorn your masterpiece. Class size is limited, so register early and join us for a smashing good time!

PMC- Silver Leaf Pendant

Imagine being able to capture a piece of the garden and preserve it forever in pure silver. Using Precious Metal Clay(PMC), Cheryl Lucas, owner of PMC Texas and certified PMC instructor, will show you how to transform a piece of nature into a stunning leaf pendant using leaves from the garden. Materials include enough silver clay to make one to three pendants, depending upon size. These beautiful pendants make great gifts. If you have ever wanted to try your hand at making silver jewelry, but didn’t know where to start, this is the class for you. No experience is necessary and all supplies will be provided.

Beautiful Beaded Bangles

Beading is all the rage, and now you can learn how to do it yourself!  Join Diana Thatcher, from Beads of Splendor, who will bring an array of beautiful stones and extraordinary beads for you to use to create a handmade masterpiece.  During this class you will learn how to sting beads to create a beautiful bookmark and an exquisite decoration to adorn the trees in your garden. These beautiful tree bangles catch the light and add charm to any landscape. The hardest part of this class will be deciding whether keep these projects for yourself or to share with friends for the holidays! No previous experience needed. To Dye For: Shibori Fabric Dying

This ancient Japanese technique of dying fabric was once used to create beautiful designs on kimonos. Linda Disosway, experienced fiber artist, will show you how to create a one-of-a-kind work of art that you can wear or display. Using resist dying techniques you will learn how to wind, bind and even stitch your fabric to create beautiful designs on silk. No special artistic skills are necessary and all supplies will be provided.
