Join us for a special fall photography weekend with one of the world’s most acclaimed nature photographers in the Dallas Arboretum's most beautiful fall landscape. Master photographer Allen Rokach will share the techniques professionals use to produce dramatic outdoor photographs, ones that make viewers take notice and leave a lasting impression. In this two-day intensive workshop targeting advanced beginner to serious photographers you will learn techniques to capture the essence of nature and fall color with your digital camera. Allen's instruction is targeted to stretch your photographic skills from creating good or competent images to crafting truly great ones.

Explore the beautiful gardens of the Dallas Arboretum while they are at the peak of seasons fall color. Through lectures, field sessions, review critiques and individual consultations you will:

• Understanding the difference between “beautiful” and “photogenic”
• Learn how to make the best use of natural light throughout the day to create dramatic color images
• Learn techniques in composition, line, shape and texture
• Work with motion and reflection
• Achieve precise focus and controlled depth of field
• Establish a sense of place and mood matched to your mind’s eye
• Conveying a sense of place
• Portraying leaves, trees, and the landscape in dramatic way
• Understand the technical potential of digital camera

The workshop will culminate with a presentation and review of your photographs as well as a discussion on after-capture techniques that can improve your final image.

Friday, 10/29: 6pm – 8pm; Capturing Color - This class is included in the price of the full workshop.
Saturday, 10/30: 7am – 6pm; sunrise and sunset field sessions with a review of photography
Sunday, 10/31: 7am – 6pm; sunrise & sunset field sessions with review of photography

Class Fees
Friday evening only: $30 or $27 for Members of the Arboretum
Weekend workshop including Friday evening: $330 or $299 for Members of the Arboretum
