Friendship Tea Service at The Dallas Arboretum January 5 – February 26 1/5/2012
DALLAS – The Dallas Arboretum, the nationally acclaimed display garden on the shores of White Rock Lake in East Dallas, announces its Friendship Tea menu. The Friendship Teas take will take place Thursday to Sunday, January 5 to February 26, with two seatings at 11:00am and 2:00pm.

DALLAS – The Dallas Arboretum, the nationally acclaimed display garden on the shores of White Rock Lake in East Dallas, announces its Holiday Tea menu. The popular Holiday Tea takes place seven days a week, excluding December 25, with two seating's at 11:00am and 2:00pm. Seatings available at 10am only on December 24 and December 31.

CINDERELLA TO CEO AUTHOR HOSTS TWO CLASSES AT DALLAS ARBORETUM NOVEMBER 13 11/2/2011
DALLAS – Cary Broussard, internationally recognized brand management expert and author of Cinderella to CEO will host two programs at the Dallas Arboretum Sunday, November 13. From 1-2pm Ms. Broussard will share her wisdom and strategies for getting ahead while weaving the invaluable lessons from fairy tales into our careers. Then from 2:45-4:30pm she will dive deeper into the lessons of fairy tales using specific chapters from her book. Women of all ages are invited to learn how to apply leadership principles shared in the tales to your work, life and career goals.

DALLAS – The magic of the holiday season arrives at the Dallas Arboretum when Holiday at the Arboretum opens November 25 to December 31. This year's festival display, 'It's a Fairy Tale World', showcases many unique and extraordinary interpretations of various Fairy Tales from the private collection of John and Kim Semyan. The decor inside the newly renovated DeGolyer Estate is coordinated by the renowned holiday decorator, Michael Hamilton and includes elaborate displays with themes such as The Old Woman in the Shoe, Three Blind Mice and of course those that are Christmas themed such as Santa Claus and the North Pole, The 12 Days of Christmas and The Night Before Christmas. The vibrant decorations will captivate the imagination of all ages. This enchanting Fairy Tale collection is one of the holiday's must-sees.

DALLAS – Only a master landscape architect could turn a poison ivy-and-bamboo-infested ravine into a showplace attraction but that’s what H. Rowland Jackson, FASLA, did in creating the Nancy Rutchik Red Maple Rill for the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. Formal opening ceremonies for the Arboretum’s newest garden were held October 6, 2011.

DALLAS – In keeping with our 2011 “It’s a Fairy Tale World” theme, Cinderella’s Pumpkin Village comes to life with four houses based on the classic fairytale. Constructed of 1,200 pumpkins and gourds, the houses depict Cinderella’s ballroom, the rooms of Cinderella and her ugly stepsisters, and the Fairy Godmother’s home. Children of all ages will enjoy exploring the village under a canopy of Pecan Trees.

Fall is the perfect time for a picnic in the gardens with the family, a fun family photo or a leisurely stroll through the 150,000 blooming fall flowers and foliage plants.

It's Time to Pick Favorites! Children's Choice Award Voting Begins in June for Favorite Fairy Tale Castle at Dallas Arboretum 5/24/2011
DALLAS – It’s time to pick your favorite Fairy Tale Castle through the month of June! Children ages 4-13 will have the chance to vote for their favorite castle from the Fairy Tale Castle exhibit featured at the Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland Road. The Fairy Tale Castle exhibit is sponsored by Lambert's and Moore Tree Care. Voting for the Children's Choice Award will be held each Saturday & Sunday from 11am-3pm in June. The winner will be announced July 1.

Dallas Arboretum Announces the Everette DeGolyer Home Interior Design Renovation by Nationally Acclaimed Designer Emily Summers 5/03/2011
DALLAS – The Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland Road, announced today the completion of the interior design renovation of the 21,000-square-foot Everette DeGolyer estate. This completion has been a three year project. The nationally acclaimed designer, Emily Summers, has donated all of her personal time for this project as a tribute to Margaret McDermott, who had a pre-wedding party given for herself and husband in the DeGolyer Library the night before they left to be married in Santa Fe. Kristin Weeks of the Summers Firm served as Project Manager. The monies for the renovation have been raised through gifts of those in the city including the Eugene McDermott Foundation, the Vin and Caren Prothro Foundation, Deedie Rose and many others totaling over one million five hundred dollars. Mrs. Gloria McCall Snead served as Chairman of the Campaign for the renovation.

“PLANT” AHEAD FOR DALLAS ARBORETUM'S ANNUAL PLANT SALE AND SEMINAR ON PLANTS FOR NORTH TEXAS 4/18/2011
DALLAS – The Dallas Arboretum, 8525 Garland Road, will hold its 8th annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 7. This very popular event is the only plant sale the Dallas Arboretum has and is a major resource for those rare and one-of-a-kind plants. Saturday, May 7 is open to the public and free of charge in the Arboretum parking lot behind Rosine Hall from 8:00am to 3:00pm. The sale is a first come first serve basis with a limited number of plants. The exclusive Members Only Plant Preview Sale on Friday, May 6 from 5:30pm to 8:00pm is only for Arboretum Members and those attending the "Lone Star Greats" Plant Seminar, which is sponsored by Ernst & Young.

Dallas Arboretum Breaks Ground On The Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden 3/21/2011
DALLAS – After ten years of planning, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, 8525 Garland Road, broke ground on March 21st on its $50 million, 7-acre children's science and adventure garden. ‘Named for civic leader Rory Meyers, The Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden, an outdoor laboratory with its 150 interactive exhibits will be able to teach about nature in nature’, stated Steve Coke, Chairman of the Dallas Arboretum Board of Directors.

Dallas Arboretum Announces Gift from Nancy Rutchik for a New Garden 2/24/2011
DALLAS – The Dallas Arboretum announced today the ground breaking for the new signature garden, The Nancy Rutchik Red Maple Rill, will be held on March 8, 2011. The Rill, a beautifully landscaped brook, will complete the original master plan design for the concert lawn and stage that was commissioned and funded by Mrs. Rutchik in honor of her late husband Martin Rutchik. The Red Maple Rill construction was a gift by Mrs. Rutchik individually.
