Beginning October 3, come see the garden through the eyes of our visitors. This juried exhibition of amateur and professional photographers showcases the garden through the seasons. The exhibition will be featured in the Gallery at Rosine Hall, October 4 - November 2, during Autumn at the Arboretum. All pieces are printed by HD Metal prints and available for purchase.

The Creative Magic of Digital Photography

In this evening lecture, Allen will share a number of simple innovative digital techniques to help you create exciting flower and garden images using anything from an iPhone to a digital camera or a point and shoot. The key to creating more interesting images is becoming a better photographer, and Allen can help you do just that. This lecture is included with workshop registration.
Workshop: Digital Perspectives on Fall Color at the Dallas Arboretum

Allen will share his expertise and long experience creating exciting images of flowers and gardens at the height of fall color at the Arboretum. Through a combination of field photography, review sessions, and demonstrations of after-capture techniques, this intensive two-day workshop will guide you through the fascinating world of digital photography. The focus will be on expanding your photographic horizons by developing an artistic vision and becoming comfortable using your digital camera to achieve that vision. In review sessions, Allen will offer suggestions to help you make photos that truly express the dynamic and subtle beauty of the fall garden.

Join Irby, Arboretum Artist in Residence, for a unique opportunity to view the beloved gardens from a new perspective. Irby, will share his inspiration for his November photography exhibit in the Rosine Hall Gallery. Through lecture and field work, Irby will share site selection, basic camera information and techniques as well as when and where to shoot to create the best photographs. This class is aimed at beginning photographers. Following class, join us for a reception to celebrate the opening of Irby’s exhibit. After the reception, Irby will lead another program on Polaroid transfers. This alternative method of processing Polaroid photos offers a unique and artistic way to transform your photos in to works of art.
