Join a world tour of chocolate! Learn what makes single origin chocolate so unique.Your event begins with a chocolatier's amuse bouche (a chocolate appetizer) to whet your palette. We then move into a guided chocolate tasting, when you and your friends will learn to use all five senses to enjoy and discover the flavor profiles of chocolate from different cacao-growing regions of the world. While tasting chocolate, participants learn about how cacao is grown, manufactured and turned into the delightful and melty treat you are enjoying..

Get your hands on cacao here! Learn techniques for making flavor infused ganache and roll your own truffles. This hands on chocolate class will introduce you to making your own flavor-infused chocolate ganache and rolling truffles. Each student will have the opportunity to sample a variety of chocolate, experiment with different flavors and take home a box of their own handmade chocolates!

Farm to Fork Cooking with Chef Eva of the Greer Farms

Sunday, September 30, October 21, November 11, 2018, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

$65 ($60 for Members)

The Dallas Arboretum has teamed up with Greer Farms out of Dangerfield, Texas to offer a series of cooking classes. During this class, Chef Eva Greer will teach attendees how to prepare:

  • 9/30: Caramelized onions, mushrooms and gruyere apple bites. Sharp cheddar, apples and sausage quiche with hash brown crust. Individual salted caramel apple crisps.
  • 10/21: Rouladen with jalapeño and brined pickles and gravy. Spätzle with fresh dill. Linzer torte with East Texas Greer Farm blackberry jam.
  • 11/11: Crispy butternut fritters with creamy chipotle dipping sauce. Butternut squash with chicken and spinach lasagna roll ups.
