Scouts in the Garden: A perfect weekend outing for your troop!

Scouts in the Garden Badge Programs

Reserve your troop’s next adventure here with a Dallas Arboretum Educator-led badge program. All scout programs combine educational content, hands-on activities, and open exploration in the garden, each one designed to fulfill the requirements for its corresponding badge. Troop leaders and chaperones are encouraged to join the fun and participate with their Scouts. Scouts will receive a specially designed Dallas Arboretum fun patch to accompany their newly earned badge, available for purchase at your local Scout shop.

Cost Per Person/Program: $20 (parking fees apply)
Minimum attendance of 13 required.

A 2-week advance registration is required. Registration includes all-day access to the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden and Main Garden.

The Arboretum will allow one reschedule; all schedule changes must be made at least two weeks before your visit, unless the Arboretum is closed due to inclement weather. To reschedule, contact education@dallasarboretum.org at least two weeks before your scheduled visit.

Scout Overnights

Turn your badge Program into an overnight adventure! Enjoy a rare chance to explore the Children’s Adventure Garden after everyone else has left. Scouts will participate in a badge program, OmniGlobe exploration, as well as venture out on a flashlight night hike to spot nocturnal animals and stargaze with our experienced Arboretum educators. Overnight sleeping arrangements will be inside our climate-controlled Exploration Center, unless prior arrangements are approved.

Overnights (with a minimum of 20 participants) are available March – May and September – December, with registration required at least 4 weeks in advance. Changes to registration must occur before the 4 week window.
