The Cool Thursdays Concert Series brings lively bands to the only music venue overlooking White Rock Lake at sunset. Plan your concert season with the Spring and Fall 2020 concert line-ups.

Music, Food and Fun!

All concerts are held on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage & Lawn. Gates open at 6:00pm. Spring concerts start at 7:30pm, and fall concerts 7pm. The garden closes at the conclusion of each concert.

Guests are welcome to bring picnic baskets, food, coolers, and beverages, alcohol is permitted but will not be available for purchase. Some of the city’s most popular food trucks will also be on-site. Free parking on concert evenings and guests are encouraged to bring blankets or low-back and low to the ground beach style chairs.

Stevie Wonder Tribute Band

Hotter Than July, a Stevie Wonder Tribute Band, is a high energy, soulful group of talented and experienced musicians. Led by professional musician Gerry Williams, an unbounded vocalist and percussionist who brings funk on the keys, this is a band you can’t help but get on your feet and groove to.

April 9 – Emerald City

Dallas’ Favorite Party Band

As a corporate and special event band, Emerald City, sponsored by UMB Bank, burst onto the Dallas music scene in 1983 and never looked back. The 13-piece, 3-horn section super group electrifies every audience with a combination of high-energy dance songs from the past with the hits of today. Emerald City’s ability to entertain is only rivaled by their extensive ability to get the audience up on the dance floor. This super group has taken their energy all over the world, from Dallas to New York, Paris, Dublin, Los Angeles and South America.

This is one of the most exciting acts out of Las Vegas, now based in Florida. His show covers all of the hits, moves and looks of JT over the years from NSYNC right up to the current tour. And…he looks just like him!

The #1 Tribute to Garth Brooks

Having played to sold-out crowds across the U.S., GARTH LIVE! is a stunning tribute to the music of Garth Brooks featuring the uncanny resemblance Drew Baloh has to legendary country music icon Garth Brooks. This multimedia production is a tribute to some of the greatest music produced in the 90’s country era including monster hits such as Friends in Low Places, The Thunder Rolls, The Dance, Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old), Ain’t Goin’ Down (til the Sun Comes Up) and countless others.

April 30 – Rocket Man

The Ultimate Elton John Tribute Show

May 7 – Dancing Dream

ABBA Tribute Band

DANCING DREAM: The Tribute to ABBA, the greatest pop super group from Sweden, electrifies audiences of all ages with the best hits “Mamma Mia”, “Dancing Queen”, “Take a Chance”, “Fernando”, and many more. The New York City based touring tribute act was founded by two European singers Halina Ulatowski and Agnes Jawien in 2009 in hopes of transporting nostalgic audiences back to the happy and groovy times of the 70s.

May 14 – The Motowners

A Tribute to Motown

The Motowners show is a fantastic tribute to the many artists and great songs from the classic Motown years. Expect to hear smash hits by the Temptations, The Four Tops, The Supremes and more great music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s!

May 21 – Limelight Band

May 28 – Absolute Queen

The Queen Tribute Experience

Lead vocalist Martyn Jenkins performed for years across Europe as Freddie in the show “Night at the Opera” performing for the Queen Fan club and Brian May! Absolute Queen, sponsored by Slalom, has performed at large outdoor Amphitheaters and Festivals and top venues. Expect all of the great hits and Queen classics that will make you sing along and remember those great concerts of the 70s and 80s.

June 4 – Kids In America

Totally 80s Tribute Band

Ready to be blasted into the past? Kids in America is a high-energy, power-packed, ultra-fun, 6 piece band paying tribute to the totally awesome 1980s. Kids in America covers all genres from this timeless decade. New wave, pop, dance and rock, rock ballads and more. Kids in America specializes in recreating the spot on sound of all your favorite 80s hits.

June 11 – Jordan Kahn Orchestra

Jordan Kahn Orchestra is known for being one of the best wedding bands, party bands and live music in DFW and Texas.

June 18 – Infinite Journey

The Music of Journey

Infinite Journey is an international Journey tribute band based in Dallas, Texas, playing high-energy shows across the country since 2012.  This five-piece band delivers a musically immersive Journey experience, focusing on the overall sound, solos, and most especially the soaring vocals that make Journey so iconic.

June 25 – Sounds of Summer

Beach Boys Tribute

Sounds of Summer is a tribute show based in Southern Indiana that includes over 30 familiar hits and tells the story of America’s band – the Beach Boys. These four incredibly talented guys have known each other since grade school and shared a love of 1960’s music and Beach Boys’ harmonies.

The band has been playing across the nation since 2015, delivering audiences an authentic look and sound, taking them back to memories of the 1960s. Sounds of Summer has received praise for staying true to the Beach Boys sound and had the privilege of playing a live hour-long special on AXS TV’s “World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” on September 2016. This show isn’t just fun…it’s fun, fun, fun!

September 3 – Turnstiles

The Ultimate Billy Joel Tribute Band

After years of performing with various original projects and cover bands, Tony decided to form “Stormfront”, his first Billy Joel tribute back in 1993. While Stormfront played to critical acclaim in the New York Area, their career was cut short when Tony decided to relocate to South Florida. Now, some 15 years later, Tony decided to enlist some of the finest musicians in South Florida to join with him to once again pay tribute to the man he has so much respect and admiration for, Billy Joel.

Never intending to be an impersonator, his focus instead is simply on the music and delivering a faithful and completely live Billy Joel experience to share with others. Turnstiles’ renditions of Billy’s classic songs are certain to move the casual listener as well as the hard core “Joel fan” to their feet and have them singing along with all the classics!

Now, at 5 years into their journey, Turnstiles has performed for 100’s of thousands of fellow Billy Joel fans, leaving them overjoyed and screaming for more! …and the best is yet to come as Turnstiles continues to spread the joy that only the timeless, classic music of Billy Joel can bring!

September 10 – The Prince Experience

The Country’s Most Dynamic Prince Tribute Band

Since 2002 Gabriel Sanchez has been portraying Prince in his critically acclaimed show The Prince Experience. What started off as a small local theatre production of Purple Rain, has expanded into what has become a night of unbelievable entertainment, which keeps anyone who has seen it, talking long after the last encore is played.

September 17 – The Troubadour Experience

A Tribute to George Strait

September 24 – Highwaymen

A Tribute to the Original Outlaws of Country Music, Willie, Waylon and Johnny

Perhaps the greatest country music super group in history, the Highwaymen traveled the world performing country music to millions of fans. Your audience will watch in amazement as each song, one hit after another is sung just as if they were seeing the original band perform. This 90 minute country music tribute show is full of upbeat, honky-tonk hits like Ring of Fire, Dukes of Hazard, and On the Road Again.

October 1 – Desperado

Texas’ Premiere Eagles Tribute

Desperado is a Dallas/Fort Worth-based band paying tribute to one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time, the Eagles. Formed from 4 of the original members of “Into The West” (Donny Hart, Mel Bittick, Ty Weatherly, and Keith Goodman) together with new member James May they pay homage to the one of the greatest bands of all time.

October 8 – Hot August Night

A Tribute to Neil Diamond

October 15 – The British Are Coming

October 22 – The Jersey Tenors

A Four Seasons Tribute

A four man tribute to all things Jersey and beyond. From Frank Sinatra to Frankie Valli to Figaro, The Jersey Tenors are a rock/opera mash-up sensation that creates an explosive blend of the most iconic opera classics alongside such rock ‘n’ roll greats as Queen, Journey, Elton John and Billy Joel, to name but a few.

But we are also “Jersey Proud” and do not forget where we come from as we highlight some of Jersey’s finest including Frankie Valli, Frank Sinatra, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Kool and The Gang and even Whitney Houston (she’s a Jersey girl)!

November 5 – Back 2 Back-2020

An Encore Performance with Rocket Man and Turnstiles

Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved inside to Rosine Hall. Due to limited space, inside seating is based on a first come, first served basis. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, bring low-to-the-ground chairs and blankets as no seating is provided. A determination of weather-altered plans will be made by 3:00pm on the day of the concert. Check our homepage or our Facebook page for updates the day of the concert.

There are no refunds or exchanges for concert tickets.

Concert Parking

  • Due to limited parking at Gate #2 and in the interest of safety, all concert parking is limited to the main lot at Gate 1 or the Parking Garage.
  • We also ask guests not to try and drop off anything, neither people nor personal effects such as coolers, at Gate #2.
  • Parking in the Camp lot and check in at the Camp ticket booth are reserved for concert sponsors and “Friends” level donors.
  • Complimentary wheelchairs available at the Information booths, based on first come, first served basis.
  • Tram and Golf Cart service are not available to transport guests on concert evenings.
