About This Event
Biologists have found that, acre for acre, Mexico holds the highest biodiversity on Earth, surpassing even renowned ecological hotspots like the Amazon, South Africa, and western China. Much of this incredible natural wealth extends north into Texas, where a remarkable number of native plants have shown resilience across North America. In this talk, Panayoti Kelaidis, Senior Curator & Director of Outreach at Denver Botanic Gardens, explores some of the tough, cold-hardy “Madrean” plants from Texas and Mexico that thrive even in harsh climates—and consider the exciting discoveries still waiting to be made!
