Sunken Garden
The Chico y Chica de la Playa sculpture and accompanying fountain provide a tranquil setting for the many weddings that take place in this secluded garden. The staircase and small lawn and courtyard create a unique, calm, intimate setting, whether for an event or a quiet moment sitting in one of the benches.
Lay Family Garden
The Lay Family Garden is a 2.2-acre garden filled with hundreds of perennials and woody plants set against two amazing water features, the Lay Grotto, which boasts a waterfall and koi pond, and on the other side, another set of cascading water elements under a lush trellis.
Pecan Grove
With its shady canopy, the Pecan Grove is the perfect location for a peaceful picnic. It is large, comfortable, inviting and full of a variety of blooming plants and trees that keep it beautiful year round.
Palmer Fern Dell
Roughly 10 degrees cooler than the rest of Dallas due to the shade and misters, the Eugenia Leftwich Palmer Fern Dell features more than 90 varieties of ferns, camellias, azaleas and mature trees that border the peaceful brook winding through this enchanting garden.

Designed by Naud Burnett II, the 6.5-acre Margaret Elisabeth Jonsson Color Garden features large, sweeping beds of seasonal flowers and plants.
A Woman’s Garden
A Womanâs Garden is the only public garden in the nation conceived by women, funded by the efforts of women and dedicated to the spirit of women. Phase I opened in September 1997 and Phase II in March 2006. Efforts by the Womenâs Council continue to expand and improve this fabulous garden in the center of the Arboretum.
Red Maple Rill
The Nancy Rutchik Red Maple Rill is an iconic two-acre garden featuring over 80 varieties of signature Japanese maples.
Crape Myrtle Allee
Opened to the public in 1994, Crape Myrtle Allee was originally funded by the Communities Foundation. Dedicated to John and Thelma Black by their daughter Peggy Braecklein. The Allee features a new lane of crape myrtle trees, which replaced the original trees planted by the DeGolyers. Paved with Pennsylvania bluestone, the Allee runs from the Paseo to Toad Corners. The Crape Myrtle Allee is a popular destination for family photo shoots and engagement photos.

Autumn at the Arboretum
Autumn at the Arboretum features 100,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash hailing from the pumpkin capital of Texas, Floydada, and 150,000 beautiful fall blooming plants throughout the garden.
Holiday at the Arboretum
Holiday at the Arboretum transforms the garden for the magic of the season featuring the Christmas Village, 12 Days of Christmas Gazebos, Dazzling Musical Tree, and the elaborately decorated DeGolyer House.
