A Garden Built for Learning
The Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden anchors everything the Arboretum offers, an 8-acre space built for students to explore and learn through direct experience with plants and nature. More than 100,000 education visitors come each year, from single classrooms to district-wide outreach, and every program aligns with classroom standards.
Programs
Field Trips at the Arboretum
Choose instructor-led classes or a flexible self-guided visit across the 66-acre garden, including learning galleries in the Children’s Garden and classroom labs in the Main Garden. Scholarships and bus stipends are available.
Homeschool Family Programs
Build homeschool curriculum around a live garden. Parents can observe or join in, and after the program, explore the rest of the Main Garden and the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden.
School Overnights
Science comes alive after hours in the Children’s Garden. Students take on earth and life science classes, tour the solar system in the OmniGlobe Theater, hike by flashlight and stargaze with Arboretum staff.
Stay At Your Campus and Get Hands-On!
When travel isn’t an option, the garden comes to the classroom. Garden on the Go, Afterschool and STEM Nights bring science beyond the classroom walls.

1. Book a Program
Once a program is chosen, submit a request and the Education Department will confirm details.
2. Submit a Deposit
A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at reservation confirmation, with final payment due two weeks before the visit. Pay by phone at 214-515-6540 (credit cards accepted), or mail a check to:

3. Plan the Day
